The little name strip that slides in under a person on TV — the one with their name and title — is called a lower-third, and it makes any video look produced. In EZ Web Streams you add lower-thirds, a logo watermark, and a bottom banner right in the recorder, and they show live while you record and burn into the file. No editing pass afterward. When you stop recording, the branding is already there.
What you can add
Everything lives in the recorder's Branding/Effects panel, so you set it up before or during a take:
- Logo watermark — upload your logo and pin it to a corner.
- Lower-thirds — a name and title in a styled strip, with several looks, that you flip on and off live.
- Banner — a text bar across the bottom for a tagline, handle, or call to action.
All three are drawn onto the recording itself, which is the important part: they're not a preview trick. What's on screen is what ends up in the exported video.
Step 1 — Add your logo watermark
Open the recorder and find the Branding/Effects panel. Under the logo option, upload your logo file (a transparent PNG looks cleanest), then pick a corner — top-left, top-right, bottom-left, or bottom-right. It appears immediately in the preview, sitting in that corner. From here on it's watermarked onto the recording, so every frame you capture carries your mark.
Step 2 — Set up a lower-third
In the lower-thirds section, type a name and a title — say "Jordan Lee" and "Founder, Northwind" — and choose a style. There are several, from a clean minimal bar to bolder branded looks, so you can match your channel. This is the strip that will slide in near the bottom of the frame, exactly like the name tags on a news broadcast or an interview.
Step 3 — Toggle it in live, mid-recording
Here's the fun part. While you're recording, toggle the lower-third on and it slides in — a smooth animate-in, like a TV name strip appearing when someone starts talking. Toggle it off and it slides away. So your intro can go: start clean, switch the lower-third on to introduce yourself for a few seconds, switch it off, and keep rolling. Bring it back whenever a new topic or a new guest comes up. You're directing the graphics live instead of nudging keyframes afterward.
Step 4 — Add a banner
Turn on the banner and type your text — a tagline, your @handle, a "Subscribe" nudge, or a URL. It draws as a text bar across the bottom of the frame and stays put while it's on. Banners are great for the thing you want on screen the whole time, where a lower-third is for the thing you flash in and out.
Step 5 — Record, and it's already burned in
Hit record and go. Because the logo, lower-thirds, and banner are drawn onto the recording as it captures, there's no post-editing step to add them. Stop the take and the branded video is done — the graphics are part of the file. If you want to trim or add captions later you still can in the editor, but you're never forced to rebuild overlays that were already on screen while you filmed.
Step 6 — Brand your remote guests too
Running an interview or panel? The overlays are baked into the composite that gets recorded, so they show over your remote guests as well, not just you. Give each guest their own lower-third with their name and title, drop your logo in the corner, and the whole recording looks like one branded show — even though everyone joined from their own browser with nothing installed.
How it compares
Live branding usually means one of two headaches. Live-studio tools like StreamYard and Riverside do have brand kits and name strips, but they're separate products aimed at streaming, the good branding sits behind a monthly subscription, and there's no real editor attached — you record in one tool and edit somewhere else. OBS can do all of this and more, but it's a desktop install where you build scenes and sources by hand before you can put a logo on screen. That's a lot of setup for a name tag.
EZ Web Streams is a browser recorder and editor with the overlays built in. Upload a logo, type a lower-third, flip it on live, and it's burned into the file — no separate studio, no install, and it works for remote guests. You get the produced, on-air look without the produced, on-air toolchain.

How do I add a logo watermark to my video?
In the EZ Web Streams recorder, open the Branding/Effects panel and upload your logo, then pick a corner to place it. The logo is drawn onto the recording as a watermark from that moment on, so it shows live in the preview and burns into the exported file. There's no separate step later — it's already baked in.
Can I turn a lower-third on and off during recording?
Yes. You set up a lower-third with a name and title and choose a style, then toggle it on and off live, mid-recording. When you switch it on it slides in like a TV name strip, and it slides out when you toggle it off — so you can introduce yourself at the start, hide it, and bring it back when a new person or topic comes up.
Do the overlays get burned into the recording or do I edit them in after?
They're burned in as you record. The logo, lower-thirds, and banner are drawn straight onto the recording, so they appear live in the preview and are already part of the exported video file. There's no post-editing pass to add them — what you see while recording is what's in the final file.
Do remote guests see the branding too?
Yes. The overlays are part of the composite that gets recorded, so lower-thirds, the logo, and the banner appear over remote guests as well, not just the host. You can label each guest with their own name and title. The Free plan records up to 5 minutes at 720p, unlimited, forever. Pro is $7.99/mo.
